The Inspiration for

"Do what you can, with what you have
In the time you have, in the place you are"

-Nkosi Johnson, AIDS activist, 1989-2001

Inspired by the Oprah Winfrey documentary on the AIDS orphans of South Africa, got its start in 2004 in Thika, Kenya partnering with the innovative grassroots organization Youth Action for Rural Development (Y.A.R.D.).

Founded on the belief that the most enduring programs are those that reflect the hopes and needs of a particular community, has provided support to help local community leaders create and implement projects that make a real difference in peoples lives.

Currently, focuses primarily on providing educational scholarships and vocational training to qualified students who have lost one or both parents to AIDS. Additionally, also provides vocational and skills training to the guardians of these students as well as in-home counseling and HIV/AIDS awareness counseling to help families deal with the stresses of daily life.

Since its beginnings, has touched the lives of over 100 families and in 2007 has expanded its program to include an additional 100 families with exciting plans for an expanded curriculum.
